5 Reasons Why You Should Only Use Tier 1 Traffic for Your Solo Ad Campaigns

You might have heard the term tier 1 traffic before, but you might not know exactly what it means and why it’s so important. In order to help you create solo ad campaigns that convert more effectively, we’ve put together this guide on tier 1 traffic and what separates it from other forms of traffic that you might use in your campaigns. Here are five reasons why you should always make sure to include at least some tier 1 traffic in your solo ad campaign.

What are tier 1 countries?

Tier 1 countries are generally those that have a high Internet penetration rate and whose residents have average incomes that allow them to afford online purchases. Examples of tier 1 countries include United States, Canada, Australia, United Kingdom, New Zealand and most of Europe. If you have an online business targeting English-speaking customers, you should target these countries with your traffic campaigns to avoid wasting your advertising budget on lower ROI markets.

Solo ads can deliver amazing ROI if you target tier 1 countries with a high percentage of high quality traffic. As noted above, tier 1 countries have a higher Internet penetration rate than other countries, which means that a larger number of people are online at any given time. This is important because it directly impacts your click-through rate (CTR). When your click-through rate is high, you will have more qualified leads and sales from solo ad campaigns.

A tier 1 country should also have a large number of English speakers. In fact, you should ideally target countries where English is one of the primary languages spoken.

Why should I use tier 1 targeting?

Using tier 1 targeting is critical to your success with solo ads. Here’s why…

First of all, there are only a handful of networks that offer it and most of them have limits on how many clicks you can purchase in any given day or week.

Second, they charge more per click than most networks because they have a higher quality score and require more information from you when creating an ad.

Third, using tier 1 solo ads allow you to target people who are more likely to convert so you spend less money overall on your campaign and achieve better results as well.

Finally, if you use a network that doesn’t offer tier 1 targeting or has run out of inventory then there’s a good chance that they’re sending your ads to users who aren’t interested in what you have to offer. This means they won’t click on your ad which makes it even harder for you to reach qualified leads with quality scores high enough to convert into customers.

Using tier 1 solo ad targeting is an easy way to reduce your advertising costs and waste less money on clicks that won’t result in sales. That’s why we only use tier 1 traffic for our campaigns, and it’s why we recommend you do too.

Is there anything better than tier 1?

We typically see the highest possible response rates from USA-only geotargeting. If your product/service is available in the USA we recommend USA-only geotargeting over Tier 1.

If you’re selling products and services to Americans, USA geo segmentation provides a higher response rate than other geotargeting options. If your product/service is available in English-speaking countries outside of America (UK, Canada, Australia), then we recommend using Tier 1.

Are you selling English-speaking products to Americans? If so, then USA-only geotargeting is your best option. In all other cases, we recommend using Tier 1 (USA and Canada) for higher conversion rates and better sales. Other locations should only be used as a last resort.

How do I track tier 1 geotargeting?

The simplest way to test your website’s geo-targeting is by using a geo-locator tool like Google Analytics. Enter your website’s URL, select Geo Rank Checker from their dropdown menu, and view country information for each visitor to your site. The results will show you where your traffic is coming from and whether those visitors are worth targeting with your next campaign.

If you don’t have Google Analytics installed on your webpage we include a tracking link with every campaign that will display the locations of your campaign traffic.

Check out some of our campaign examples and view your campaign’s geo-tracking link to see what we mean. In order to track tier 1 geotargeting for your next campaign, all you need to do is replace your campaign’s tracking link with ours!
